Direct-hire Senior Web Developer – Dallas, TX
General Position Summary: This position will serve as a Senior Web Developer to a team of varying experience levels of database administrator/developer, software developer, and web developer staff. The Senior Web Developer is expected to be involved from inception to completion in the development of our full-life cycle database driven web application(s) that begin with needs assessment and continue thru implementation, testing, training and support. This position will also identify and solve problems in our existing custom software; analyze incoming data, process data, analyze results, and troubleshoot for our claim process using our custom software; provide expertise in web server infrastructure setup & configuration, including but not limited to network, hardware/software, backup and restoration.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Web server administration and security.
- Web application design and development.
- Resolution of complex server performance issues.
- Web server capacity, performance, and availability planning.
- Web server infrastructure configuration/optimization.
- Database design and development.
- Performs business process analysis and solution proposals.
- Develops implementation plans, complete with time-estimations.
- Conducts research and debugging; Responsible for quality assurance process.
- Create/maintain all related documentation.
- Provides all related training and support.
Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:
- This position works in a typical office environment and light lifting is required.
Travel Requirements:
- Minimal Travel Required
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelors of Science required in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science Engineering, Web Development, Web Design or Computer Graphic Design.
- 7 (+) Years in database driven web application development on Microsoft SQL Server and ASP.Net platform.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- MS SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008
- Design and development
- Stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views
- Ad-hoc T-SQL and report generation
- Administration, design, development, and security
- Object oriented programming
- Cross-browser JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, DHTML, & CSS
- IIS6 & IIS7
Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
- ETL, SSIS / DTS, & SSRS
- Experience with additional web application platforms (Coldfusion, PHP, JSP, etc.)
- Experience with desktop application platforms (Java, etc.)
- Windows Servers & Services
- Healthcare industry/domain knowledge
- Experience with EDI
