Network Engineer III
Job Description:
This position will be primarily responsible for day to day operations including but not limited to, internal projects, advanced trouble shooting of network and VoIP related issues, monitoring, patch management, standards, and documentation.
· Uses knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to help design and install internal and external networks.
· Tests and evaluates network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements.
· Sets up, configures, and supports internal and/or external networks on both Cisco (IOS) and Juniper (JUNOS) platforms.
· Develops and maintains systems, applications, security and network configurations.
· Utilizes current network monitoring systems to troubleshoot network performance issues and works with senior staff members to create and maintain disaster recovery plans.
· Recommends upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment.
· Provides technical support and guidance to users.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree plus 4-6 years experience in the field or related area (Additional experience may be substituted for degree)
- In-depth knowledge of network security, wireless devices, routing principals and network architecture with a working knowledge of Voice over IP (VoIP) and some specialization with networking components such as routers, switches, firewalls and etc.
- Must have in-depth knowledge of Juniper and Cisco hardware.
- Must have experience with PCI compliance and security
- Prefer certification in VoIP or other Network technologies
- Familiar with a variety of the fields concepts, practices and procedures
- Must have excellent verbal and written skills and be able to produce detailed network diagrams using MS Visio
- Demonstrated ability to coach/guide junior team members
