Contract-to-hire Helpdesk Opportunity in Fort Worth, TX 

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required

Minimum five years providing IT Help Desk support for at least 200 clients. Practical experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving PC problems over telephone. Extensive knowledge desktop/network operations including MS Windows 2000, XP, and 7.

Knowledge and practical experience in supporting mainstream software applications such as MS Office, Internet Explorer, Lotus Notes, and databases in general. Hands on experience in user account administration and security, as well as network printer administration.

Five years of practical experience using and maintaining a commercial Help Desk software package. Experience with Numara FootPrints a plus. Experience and knowledge of IBM AS400 operations a plus. Positive and professional customer service attitude and demeanor a must.

Duties & Responsibilities

Receive first level support calls from company PC users. Assess problem or request and make reasonable effort to resolve during initial call. If necessary, assign follow-up support call to appropriate IT staff member. Enter call in Help Desk database and track progress of call until it is successfully closed. Maintain communication between end users and IT staff assigned to call.

Use remote control software to train users and resolve PC problems. Reset user passwords and locked accounts. Cancel or otherwise administer network print jobs. Coordinate external technicians (printer hardware, etc.) in response to support calls. Maintain current user information in Help Desk database. Assist Asset Management Analysts in maintenance of software licensing inventory.

Provide ongoing analysis of IT support calls in order to further refine IT procedures and systems. Coordinate distribution of support efforts between Fort Worth and District IT staff.
